Policies and Procedures

If illness or other emergencies should arise during child care hours every attempt will be made to have a substitute provider care for your child so that I can remain open for child care. If substitute care is not available you will receive a phone call to pick up your child. Whenever possible medical and personal appointments will be made after child care hours however, if I must use child care hours to secure appointments every attempt will be made to have a substitute provider care. If a substitute is not available, I will have to close my child care home.

For your convenience, I will distribute my scheduled Child care closings for vacations and holidays with in the first quarter of each year and every attempt will be made to minimize any changes in this schedule.

Paid holiday closings: New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day. There are also days that I close for a half day, these are still full rate of service. These days are New Years Eve.

When the holiday is falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the acknowledged Federal/State holiday prevails; i.e. Christmas is on Sunday and the acknowledged Federal holiday is Monday December 26th. for holidays.

Vacation closing: 10 paid vacation/sick/personal days per calendar year; all other
vacation/sick/personal days are not paid, if any occur. You will be required to pay the regular rate of service for my vacation/sick/personal days. This does not mean they are or will be 10 consecutive days and they may be spread out over the course of the year.

Please respect that when my child care home is closed, I am taking this time to rest and to be with my family or just to catch up on home duties. I take my job very seriously and consider this to be a legitimate long term career. In order to accomplish this, I need this time out to maintain the energy level it takes to give your child the quality care he/she deserves.

Sick Policy:
I have a strict Sick Policy that will be followed very closely! If your child has ONE or more of the following symptoms they WILL NOT be allowed to come. Dry/mucousy cough, runny/stuffy nose with OR without color, FEVER (anything OVER 98.6 is a fever, if taken UNDER the arm you need to ADD ONE degree) Vomiting, Diarrhea, Fatigue. If any of these symptoms are present YOU MUST keep your child home. They can NOT come back until they have been FEVER/SYMPTOM FREE without the aid of medications for NO LESS than 24 HOURS! If cough or runny nose are still present they MAY return ACCOMPANYING a DOCTORS NOTE. If symptoms are masked with medications this will be grounds for termination, immediately. In this instance payment for the FULL week as well as the 2 week termination fee will be DUE at pick up of your child and belongings! This policy is in place FOR YOU and YOUR child's protection as well as MINE! If this policy is broken and you bring your sick child, and I have to CLOSE my daycare due to me or my children being ill WITHIN one week of YOUR child being ill, YOU WILL STILL BE RESPONSIBLE for payment in full up to 3 closed days, anything more will be determined at that time.

Children spread illness very easily and it is not fair to other parents or myself if YOU break the rules. Please take this policy serious, as it will be STRICTLY enforced!
Please remember that a cough, sneezing and runny nose spreads germs. Even if it is just viral it is still contagious and still puts everyone at risk to get ill. If you have recently taken your child to the doctor and he is on medications I need to be aware and also need a doctors note stating they are NOT contagious. If you are unsure please contact your physician and also contact me.

Note: Ear infections are not contagious however they can be caused by other infections that are. If the ear infection is accompanied by fever, coughing, sneezing, runny/stuffy nose, vomiting or diarrhea then you will need to keep your child home until they are symptom free for 24 hours with out the aid of fever reducing, anti-diarrhea or anti-vomiting medications. If they are on antibiotics they will need to be on the antibiotic for 48 hours before returning to care. There are NO exceptions to this policy.

Thank you for you cooperation.

I do reserve the right to close for any reason in which I cannot operate in a safe manner. i.e. loss of electricity, water, heat or in extreme circumstances loss of air conditioning, and medical epidemics. Child care fees are paid for any of these occurrences.
